EVE OF DESTUCTION

The mideastern world it is explodin,
violence flarin, bullets loadin,
youre old enough to kill but not for votin,
you do'nt believe in war, what's that gun you're totin,
and even the Tigris river has bodies floatin,
but you tell me over again my friend you do'nt believe we're on the eve of destruction.

Do'nt you understand, what I'm trying to say?
Ca'nt you see the fear that I'm feeling today?
If the button is pushed, there's no running away,
There'll be noone to save with the world in a grave,
take a look around you, boy, it's bound to scare you, boy,
but you tell me over and over again my friend,ah, you do'nt believe we're on the eve of destruction.

My blood's so bad, feels like coagulatin,
Im sittin here, just contemplatin,
I ca'nt twist the truth, it knows no regulation,
handful of Senators do'nt pass legislation,
and marches alone ca'nt end globalisation,
when human respect is disintegratin,
this whole crazy world is just way too frustratin,
and you tell me over and over and over again my friend, you do'nt believe we're on the eve of destruction.

Think of all the hate there is in Falluja!
Tehn take a look around to Red state America!
You may leave here, for four days in space,
but if you return, it's the same old place,
the poundin of the drums, the pride and disgrace,
you can bury your dead, but don't leave a trace,
hate your next-door-neighber, but do'nt forget to say grace,
and you tell me over and over and over and over again my friend, you do'nt believe we're on the eve of destruction.

This is the second post in a row where you have recycled a Vietnam war protest song. What gives? You can't manage something original?

Maybe you could do a post explaining what happened to the 1,000,000 or so Vietnamese who disappeared after the communist "liberation."

Or why John Kerry burned his medals and comdemned his fellow veterans as "murderers, rapists, and theives?"

That'd have a nice tune.

Howie,
Eve of what??? Baby got his bottle… You’re just afraid… Stop nursing on the tit of liberalism… Fear is the Mind Killer, remember that??? Ninety percent of the things you worry about never happen and the other ten percent you have little or no control over… So enjoy your time at school… Before you know it, you will be a High School History Teacher and Gym Coach…

It is not «original» because Bush's War is not original. Iraq is just like Viet Nam.No exit stnategy, no end goal. A neverending war of attrittion.

Do you think you should pay more attention to your spelling before your thoughts enter cyberspace? After all, you are an education major with a minor in history. Or should it be an education minor with a miniscule in history? Anyway, sharpen up.

Hi Howie, I see you have your usual rush of attack terriers. :)
Do these right-wing nuts have blogs or do they just hang around waiting to jump on your posts?

"Vietnam presented no clear and present danger to our country within our own boundaries. Now we do face such danger..."

Of all the differences between Iraq and Vietnam, and there are many, the one cited is the BIG difference. There was no real penalty to the US public whether we lost in Vietnam. There is if we become unsure of ourselves in the war against Islamic fundamentalism.

Not to worry Howie, I doubt they'd bomb your "ivied halls" of Princeton.

Le'ts clear up a common miscnception. This blog is a forum for progressive views. Its not my intent to «win» arguments. At my privlege, revocable at any time, readers may comment. Think of my blog as a benevolent dictatorship, not a democracy or open forum. If you feel this is unfair such is life. Instaed of pontificating on my site about «debating the issues» and flinging silly charges of «censorship», do what Ive done: bild your own readership on your own blog and have all the «debates» you want. Yes, its hard work, but with consistent, interesting blogging and time, you’ll soon have a blog frequented by people telling you how to run it, just as I do.

Howie
You really must calm down and then try to improve your spelling and tighten up your sloppy grammmar. Your point of view is so puerile that it should not be further obscured your apparent lack of basic education.

Well, how about the ones that wouldn't? Don't let the dumbass's ruin it for us :-D. Make a cheap yahoo address, if it gets spammed, you don't gotta read it. Make it obvious that you wont respond to them because there is a good chance you'll never read them, and that greivences should be brought to your attention there...That way nobody can say 'wahts rong h owie? af raid to responded to my emails?'

That's precisely how Camojack operates, as far as I can see.

I'm also here to figure out why you support this organization called Vive Le Canada, which opposes integration. I thought the Canadians were supposed to be more progressive than us, but apparently most of them don't want to allow blacks into their schools and stores. It can't remain a nation of Conan O'Brians forever.

Actually, America would have a lot to gain in a merjer with Canada, ironically. As close as Congress is, adding the 10 Canadian provinces would be adding 9 blue states, with 18 Democratic Senators and the requisite nomber of House members. Only Alberta would be a red state. Im sure if Yukon, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territory were admitted, they would also be Democratic; they currently send progressive representatives to Ottowa. So 6 more Democrats in the senate. Not to mention the electorial college; there would'nt be nearly enough «red states» for the right to ever elect another presidemt. Such a merger would make America irrevocably progressive; the RepublIca'nt party would be totally eniolated.

Dude, howie, seriously! Get a new response.

You could vary your response so that it's not so unoriginal. It is trite to hear you same lines.

Besides, that wasn't even an attack.

Keep blogging though. Some of this stuff is interesting.

You're improving Howie - that last post was understandable. Rubbish, but understandable. Pity about the spelling mistake - remember "i before e except after c."

At 5:38 PM, July 26, 2005, Blogger Chairman eDog vignetted...

Howie,

I think you're underestimating the evil genius of Karl Rove's final solution for C-eh-N-eh-D-eh. First, Quebec is on its own--they want it anyway. Ditto for the Maritime, or "Sissy", provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. Ontario will be partitioned between Michigan, New York, and Minnesota. BC will likewise be split up between Alaska and Washington. The Yukon will be absorbed into Alaska, and since it's population is 1/15 of Alaska it won't impact the political dynamic in that state. Nunavut will remain a territory, and thus will not having representation in Congress. The remaining Western Provinces (Manitoba, Alberta, and Saskatchewan) will be merged into a single state, Saskalbertoba.

The result of this partitioning will amount to, at most, a net gain of two Senators and two or three Reps for the Democrats. However, such an annexa...er..merger with KKKanada would require the merger of our own "sissy states" in New England into a single state: Mainassermonthampshireticut Island (and Providence Plantation). This would likely result in a net loss of 8 Senators for the Democrats, and 2 for the GOP.

So, in the end, the Democrats lose 4-6 seats in the Senate, and only gain a handful in the House. The GOP will still control the White House and the Presidency.

God, it feels good to be eeevil.

Ya know, if you're looking for angry, pointed music about the Bush Regime, why don't you just listen to System of a Down?

Come to think of it, you probably do. They're major ganja-heads.

At 3:39 PM, July 27, 2005, Blogger Chairman eDog vignetted...

Cecil,

Probably the worst thing the Bush Administration ever did was inspire otherwise decent bands to come out with clumsy, politically moronic music. Among them: System of a Down, A Perfect Circle, Eminem, Green Day(who sucked before but got much worse). Perfect Circle is the worst. Maynard did brilliant and truly inspired music with Tool, but now does nothing but weepy and lame peacenik drivel. In fact, though not a musician, even Michael Moore was fairly entertaining before he became obsessed with GWB. I use to really enjoy his show "TV Nation" which was far funnier and more balanced than Michael is now.

I believe the above statement was a reply to a question about an email address.

Hate to hurt your feelings, Howie, but you are nowhere near interesting enough to actually email!
