NAGIN GIVES BUSH A PASS
I just turned on my TV and what to my wondering eye should appear but New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin on NBC's Meet The Press. When asked by host Tim Russert about cooperation and support from the State and Federal governments, I expected a Bush bash. Instead, while Nagin was highly critical of the Federal response, he blamed it on "low level advisors", who gave the President advice which may have grossly understated the severity of the problem. In his personal dealings with Bush, Nagin praised the President, saying, "Whatever I asked the President for, he made it happen".The Mayor reserved the bulk of his rage for Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco (D), who he accused of showing up in New Orleans with full press entourage, performing a dog & pony show, then leaving. Nagin had supported Republican Piyush "Bobby" Jindal over Blanco in the 2003 gubernatorial runoff election.

Bobby Jindal would be our Governor today were it not for the National MSM doint everything in its power to prevent it.
The MSM esentially "took over" the campaign" for Governor of Louisiana, in an election barely won by Governess Blanco.
She's history now!
"doint" is Cajun for doing.
I've learned since being old enough to vote, you learn nothing by listening to politicians. They pat each other and stab each other in the back very nearly at the same time. It's best to do research and figure it all out for yourself.
Here's a link to what MSNBC.com has put together as the step by step of what happened from the moment they new Katrina was coming. There ARE small gaps in details, but just from this little bit of info, you can see that politicians on EVERY level screwed it up. Some more than others.
But those completely involved in politics and it's details will follow their party's members no matter what. It's the nature of the beast.

The Dems are fighting amongst themselves...this could be a good thing for Louisiana.
Some time ago, I said here that the Taleban had offered to hand over bin Laden, and that Bush rejected the idea. I was asked where I got that 'rubbish' (I paraphrase).
I've found the URL now. It's from that well-known bastion of al Qaeda support, CNN:
http://archives.cnn.com/2001/US/10/14/ret.afghanistan.attacks/
From that link by our good friend, "anonymous," dated October 14, 2001:
Meanwhile, President Bush rejected Sunday the latest Taliban offer to discuss turning over Osama bin Laden to a third country if the United States stops its bombing campaign and provides evidence of bin Laden's complicity in the September 11 attacks.
"Turn him over, turn his cohorts over, turn any hostage they hold over, destroy all the terrorist camps. There's no need to negotiate, there's no discussion. I told them exactly what they need to do," Bush said as he returned from the presidential retreat in Camp David, Maryland.
"There's no need to discuss innocence or guilt. We know he's guilty," he said. "If they want us to stop our military operations, they just got to meet my conditions. When I said 'no negotiations,' I meant 'no negotiations.'"
--------------------
Seems like our President, unlike, "anonymous," knows that you don't, "negotiate," with terrorists. Negotiating with terrorists means, "caving in to their demands."
Regarding the topic of the thread, yes, it's fun to watch these Democrats fighting among themselves.
"Seems like our President, unlike, "anonymous," knows that you don't, "negotiate," with terrorists"
That was not the point, smartass.
I said they offered to hand him over and Bush rejected the offer. Period. I was told I was talking rubbish and asked for the source. I just gave it. The question was not about whether he should or shouldn't but whether the offer was made and rejected. Which it was.
Seems like Republicans are doing a lot of fighting among themselves since Katrina, also.
And you and your friends having said elsewhere that the problem was not Bush's fault, it's interesting to watch him, FEMA, and Homeland Security taking a fall now.
Nice that he got a generator into NO for his speech.
Algiers (where President Bush spoke, in New Orleans) has electrical power.
"The site of Bush's speech was notably antiseptic and isolated, given the mayhem all along the Gulf coast. Fallen trees had been cut down, and scores of bags of leaves and branches were piled outside the 154-year-old, cast-iron fence that surrounds the square. The government brought in a truck-mounted generator, and Hollywood-style lighting. In the afternoon, fresh liners were put in trash cans. By dusk, soldiers from the 82nd Airborne had been deployed to keep regular citizens several blocks back."

Use Google, it's easy.
Anonymous = Newsman.
Which means what?
"Anonymous" means someone without the intestinal fortitude (A.K.A. "guts") to post their name.
IOW: chicken$#!+.
O I C.
Well. Disable anonymous then!

I don't need Google...I have eyes.
Where do you think kajun is; in Australia?
Why the hell should I know where kajun is?
Did he bring in a generator or not?? What did your interjection mean in the first place?? What were you trying to say when you said there was power there???
Stop being such a child.
You've all lost your big bluffing know-it-all manner since Bush bungled relief after Katrina, making the world's collective jaw drop. And his ratings among Americans are at an all-time low. What a bloody great president you have there. Not.
Howie waht has happemd 2 U? U said ur totaly progressive and U live and beathe hte progessive cause. And now i fimd out htat ur nothing but a neocon LOL And u said I was a neocon but u wre totally a neocon al lthe time. I coud scream!
NAGIN GIVES BUSH A PASS
President gets into New Orleans, free.
annomyous
Go worship a Rock.
LOLOLOL Brainy type, are you?
Wow even anymouses source from 2001 disagrees with him:
"President Bush rejected Sunday the latest Taliban offer to discuss turning over Osama bin Laden to a third country"
Since when does talking about sending Osama to Syria constitute a handover?
Deus est Semper Fidelis
It was Pakistan, actually.
A big ally of the US in the "war on an abstract noun", I believe.
Nagin Gives Bush Sabine Pass*
* Sabine Pass, Louisiana
From answers.com:
Ca·jun also Ca·jan ( kā ' jən ) n. A member of a group of people in southern
Louisiana descended from French colonists exiled from Acadia in the 18th.
DUH!
Hey, Howie! Where have you been? Working for a living, no doubt! Hope to see you back posting soon!
This president needs to be impeached.
Some time ago, I said here that the Taleban had offered to hand over bin Laden, and that Bush rejected the idea. I was asked where I got that 'rubbish' (I paraphrase).
Yeah, I clicked that link. It doesn't support your position at all.
The Taliban offered to turn bin Laden over to a third party. President Bush had made it clear that this was NOT an option. This is supported by your link.
By the way, how do you figure you'll get away with a sarcastic comment sreferring to CNN as a "well-known bastion of al Qaeda support".
CNN is hardly in the Bush camp.
RWR
How come you know "Bobby" Jindal's name? Are you in Loosiana?
